The technology used to produce these moving skeleton pictures

'Circles and Lines' produced the pictures in Munich, which is the production company of the television programme "Welt der Wunder" (World of Wonders) broadcast on the television channel "Pro7".

Produziert werden sie in München bei Circles and Lines, der Produktionsfirma der Sendung "Welt der Wunder" des Fernsehsenders "Pro 7".

To film the movements of the individuals the so-called "Optical Motion-Capture Technology" from Vicon was employed. This is a system, whereby 12 special cameras record the movements of reflective markers (fixed at defined points on the body) in three dimensions with a precision of 1mm and a high frequency. The movements of the individuals’ skeleton are precisely calculated and accurately simulated. The system uses no cables connected to the individual to record data, and therefore movements are unrestricted.

The "Optical Motion-Capture Technology" is not only used in the film and visual effects field, but also in the medical and therapeutic fields, and in industry where it assists to explain certain ergonomic queries (e.g., investigation of load on joints and back when stepping in and out of a car).
